1. Today marks the birthday of Berenice Abbott, an American photographer known for her black and white architecture photography in the city of New York.  Her first photographs upon coming to New York, were done using a handheld Kurt-Bentzin camera, after which she upgraded to an 8x10” negative large format Century Universal camera.  Pictured is one of Berenice’s iconic images from her Changing New York series from 1935: Blossom Restaurant; 103 Bowery.  Happy Birthday!
